I meet my first sectopod in January 2017 (ufopeida: December of year1), and first ethereal in March 2017 (ufopeida: January of year2), both these units make their debut way later then the month declared in ufopedia. There's no meld indicator or anything in the UI, so the 'grab meld' icon doesn't show up. So, does manipulating the alien research in. Also, to my frustration, the default 'open door/use thing' key doesn't work for meld anymore. For the longest time, I thought that you had to research Xenogenetics just to be able to collect meld. RIP about 50 meld from my very first LW campaign. ini also altered the fielding schedule of some alien life form?Ģ. Since October of year1, I have to fight a base defense mission every 3 months. Up until now (April of year 2) I have experienced total of 3 base defense mission (which I manage to hold my ground with minimal lost) (so I have to defend my base on Oct, 2016, Jan 2017 and Apr 2017). ![]() I am in my first play through of Long War (15b, Normal, Commander's Choice, Hidden Potential) and I am up to late August in the first year.Usually, right before any base defense mission, alien not only send a very large ship to destroy satilite over my base country, but they will also spwan 2 terror mission back to back, followed it with 3 trap raider landing missions (each containing 40+ aliens per map) (which I managed to pull through all of them, with some critical injuries, lucky me) back to back, and right after base defended, they spawn us a bomb disposal mission waiting my (overworked) team to answer. Sometime around early August (maybe late July), the meld per canister went from 14 to 17, which I assume is pretty normal for this stage of the game. Does this apply to Long War I know lots of times I've gotten the meld, had an alien miss my soldier behind it, seen the canister detonate, and been yelled at by Vahlen. Then I ignored meld canisters for a while since I already had ~650 meld in storage, and because I was being extra cautious due to the sudden appearance of berserkers and sectoid commanders. Does she have a right to yell at me, or is the lecture baseless 1. When I returned to risking meld collection, I was only getting 11 per canister. My understanding is that meld-per-container reflects the current level of alien resources, so presumably this means the aliens have lost resources somehow.Īfter a successful mission, it dropped again to 10 per canister. ![]() ISSUE 1 - MELD In my first game, by June or July I was getting 9 Meld per canister. Can in-game events cause the aliens to lose resources, e.g. In my new (second) game, I am still getting 3 Meld per canister. when aliens create large UFOs or prepare for big missions like an XCOM base assault? It's almost September yet, the game is stuck on 3 Meld per canister. ago My 0.02 is that I get anywhere between 3-1 cannisters per mission. ![]() ![]() I just want to confirm that my game hasn't bugged out, because this is the first time I have seen meld-per-container go down rather than up. Harder Abductions spawn more but, given the Nature of Long War you'll activate every alien on the map getting them. You're better off prepping to kill every pod on the map before they expire than trying to get to them before they expire.
